Getting started

Your content, beautifully organized. Learn the essentials, create your first entry, and bring your team along.

On this page

Viresso gives your team one place to create, organize, and publish content for your websites and apps. This guide takes you from opening a workspace to publishing your first entry.

Find your way around

Everything happens inside a workspace: your team's home for content, files, forms, and settings. If you've been invited to an existing workspace, open it from the workspace chooser. You can switch workspaces from the sidebar at any time.

These are the places you'll use most:

In Viresso What you'll do there
Dashboard See recent content and your team's editorial activity.
Entries Write, edit, organize, and publish content.
Files Upload images and documents, add alt text, and see where a file is used.
Forms Create forms and review submitted answers.
Settings Manage workspace details, team access, and integrations, depending on your role.

Joining an existing team? You can start creating content as soon as your workspace has a content type. You don't need to set up an API key to use the editor.

Understand your content

Viresso organizes content in three layers. A content bucket groups related content, a content type defines its fields, and an entry is the individual item you fill in.

For example, a Website bucket could contain an Articles content type. Each article is an entry with fields for a title, body, and cover image. Your team sets up the structure once, then reuses it for every new article.

  • Fields are the individual inputs you fill in, such as a title, date, or image.
  • Files are reusable images, videos, and documents you can attach to entries.
  • Locales let you keep different language versions of the same entry together.

Create your first entry

  1. Open Entries in your workspace.
  2. Choose the content bucket and content type you want to work with.
  3. Create an entry and fill in its fields. Complete any required fields before saving.
  4. Keep the entry as a draft while you work.
  5. Save your changes.

Your content type determines which fields appear in the editor. If you need a different field or a new kind of content, ask an Editor or Administrator to update the content model.

Read Creating and editing entries for editing, duplication, tags, and comments.

Add images and documents

Open Files to upload an image or document. Give it a useful name and add alt text to images so your team can describe them accessibly. Back in an entry, use an attachment field to select a file from your workspace.

Files can be reused across entries. Before deleting one, check which entries reference it.

Read Managing files for uploads, file details, and deletion.

Review and publish

When your content is ready, review the fields and change its status to published. Drafts stay visible to your team in Viresso; published entries are available to connected websites and apps through the content API.

Publishing in Viresso makes content available to your integration. When it appears on your website depends on how that website fetches and refreshes content.

If an entry has translations, review each enabled locale before publishing. All locales share the same entry status.

Read Localization to add and review language versions.

Set up a new workspace

Starting from scratch? Create a workspace from the workspace chooser. You'll become its Administrator.

  1. Choose a workspace label your team will recognize, a stable name, and a contact email.
  2. Open Entries and add a content bucket to group related content.
  3. Add a content type, such as Articles or Pages.
  4. Add fields for the information each entry needs. Make a title or name field the primary field so entries are easy to recognize.
  5. Invite your teammates and choose a role for each person.

Labels are what your team sees. Names are identifiers used by integrations, so check with the person managing your website before changing them.

Choose the right access

Your workspace role controls the actions available to you.

Role What you can do
Administrator Manage content, the content model, members, and workspace settings.
Editor Manage content and its structure, without workspace administration.
User Create and manage entries, files, and forms using the existing structure.
Viewer Browse content with read-only access.

If an action is missing, ask a workspace Administrator to check your role. See Roles and permissions for the full breakdown.
